The eye
One of the most important senses humans and animals have is the sense of sight.
The eyes are responsible for this sense.
External light is transmitted from the eye to the brain and eyesight is made possible.
Human eyes are located at the front of the head, like some animal species and most predators.
This enables the eyes to focus on prey.
In animals being hunted, most times their eyes are located on the sides of their head.
This gives them a greater range of vision, alerting them to predators nearby.
Our eyes are located a small distance apart from each other, to allow for three-dimensional sight.
The eye is made up of several parts. Each part has an important role.
One of the parts is the pupil.
The pupil is the black hole in the center of the eye.
The pupil shrinks and expands with its muscles inside the eye.
With a small amount of light - the pupil expands in an attempt to allow a greater amount of light rays to enter the eye.
With a large amount of light - the pupil shrinks to protect the eye from too much light.
What will happen to the pupil if we turn on the lights in a dark room?
